ODDFELLOWSHIP.
Half-yearly District Meeting. The half-yearly district meeting of the Wanganui District 1.0.0 F. Manchester Unity, was held in the Methodist Schoolroom last night. The following officers and delegates attended :—W. G. M. Bro. Thurgood, D. W. G. M. Bro. Hodges, Cor. Sec. Bro. Salek. Wanganui Lodge, Bros. Copeland, Bamber, Flyger, Hayton; Manawatu Lodge, Palmerston North, Bros. Eyre, Mowlem, Sharman, Watson; Feilding Manchester Lodge, Bros. Jones, Allen, Mingens; Apiti Lodge, Bro. Nix; Kimbolton Lodge, Bro. Wallace; Mataroa Lodge, Bro. Dobson; Rangitikei Lodge, Mangaweka, Bro. Sherson; Awariia Lodge, Ohingaiti, Bro. Weston ; Bunnythorpe Lodge, Bro, Espiner ; Foxton Lodge, Bros. R. G. Hickson, and J. Southern. The Hunterville and Taihape Lodges were not represented. Bro. Johnson was appointed Tyler. The Grand Master welcomed the delegates to the Loyal Foxton Lodge and business was then proceeded with. Various reports were received and dealt with. The funds of the district were shown to be valued at ,£22865, an increase of Members 1145, an inj crease of 21. During the half-year J a new lodge has been opened at Ohakune, on the Main Trunk Line, with every prospect of success. Bro. Watson, of Palmerston, was appointed book examiner for the district. At 10,30, an adjournment was made to a banquet tendered by the Loyal Foxton Lodge to the officers and delegates of the district. Bro. Thurgood presided. Full justice was done to the good things provided by' Mr Perreau. A toast list was gone through. Among other toasts honoured were "The King,” " The Manchester Unity" ‘ ‘ The District Officers ’ ’ proposed by Bro. Watson and responded to by Bros. Thurgood, Hodges and Salek. "The Father of the District, Bro. Bamber,” was proposed by Bro. Sharman and feelingly acknowledged by Bro. Bamber, “The Loyal Foxton Lodge" was proposed by Bro, Allen and responded to by Bro. / R, G, Hickson. \ Business was then resumed till an early hour of the morning to allow some of the delegates to return home by the morning train. The next District Meeting is to be held at Kimbolton. During the day the visiting delegates were shown the places of interest in the town, and expressed themselves as highly pleased with the kindness and hospitality of the local members.
