S.M. COURT.
Before A. D. Thompson, Esq., S.M. A sitting of the local Court was.held yesterday, The following civil cases were dealt with: — F. Groom v. W. Smith, claim £j 17s gd ;£3 paid into Court. Judgment for balance by default, costs 3s. R. Moore v. Cook & Stevenson, claim £6 14s gd, costs £1 Bs. L. E. Read v. G. Roberts, claim ns, costs 15s. J. Hunter (Mr Moore) v. J. W. Thompson, claim £4 17s 3d, costs 10s. J. Starbk (Mr Moore) v. R. Walden, claim £1 ss. costs ios. Same v. A, McKegney, claim 16s, costs ss. R. Allen (Mr Reade) claimed from G. T. Woodroofe (Mr Cooper) £4O 16s 8d overtime. After, hearing the evidence of plaintiff and counsel for defendant, the S.M. said he could not give judgment as the evidence of plaintiff was uncertain. He would therefore enter a non-suit with costs against plaintiff, two guineas.
