FOUND DEAD.

A middle-aged man named Thomas Haywood was picked up dead in Mr Robinson’s paddock (Xady’s Mile) this afternoon, by the police, upon information received from Mr Geo. Coley. Deceased is a single man, and has been engaged as a cook, etc., at the flaxmiils. It is supposed that he has been dead for some days. It is believed deceased has a brother in Foxton at present, and was a son of Mr Haywood, a wellknown sporting man in the Wairarapa. An inquest will be held to-morrow.
