The Manawatu Herald. SATURDAY, JULY 20, 1907. A PROMENADE.

A local resident mentioned to us the other day that nearly the whole of the river frontage had been taken up b} 7 private people. If residents desired to'take a stroll along the river bank they had to trespass on private property. He thought it a pity that the local authority had not reserved a portion of the water’s edge as a promenade. We do not know whether the whole of the river bank has been leased, but the suggestion of a promenade is a good one, and, perhaps the Borough Council, at some future date, could discuss the question. We hopefull} 7 pass the suggestion on.
