SLY-GROG SELLING.
I Invercargill, July iB. JlTbe Stipendiary Magistrate, Mr jcCarthy, to-day delivered his reserved judgment in the case against Jeremiah Hartnett, William Meikle, and Martin Campbell, charged with assisting in the sale of liquor, The, evidence was that the men visited sly grog-shops and purchased liquor. The Magistrate found that this constituted an offence, and fined each defendant £2, with costs, in default a fortnight’s imprisonment.
