BOROUGH RESERVES COMMITTEE.
The Borough Reserves Committee reported as follows at last Monday’s meeting : —The Committee visited the pound keeper’s cottage, arid after carefully inspecting same, considered the main building beyond repair, and recommend a new four-roomed cottage being built. The present lean-to, which is fairly sound, being removed to a fresh site and used as an outhouse and stable added. The Committee also visited Victoria Park, and recommend planting a row of weeping willows along the drive fiom the gate at the eastern end near to the western gate; also to plant the lower slopes of the.hill (where the trees were cut .down a few years ago) with suitable trees. The Committee do not recommend sinking an artesian well in Victoria Park.
