WEDDING BELLS.

The marriage of Miss Elsie Grace McKenzie, second daughter of Mr Robert B. McKenzie, of “ Hokianga,” Carnarvon, with Mr Charles W. Duncum, took place at ‘ 1 Hokianga ’ ’ last Saturday, at 3 o’clock. The officiating minister was the Rev. G. K. Aitken, of Foxton. The guests were confined to the immediate friends and relations of the parties interested, but as the McKenzie clan is of somewhat magnificent proportions, ‘ ‘ Hokianga ’ ’ was crowded to its utmost capacity, members of the family journeying as far as from Dunedin and Wellington to be present. The bride looked exceptionally winsome in a gown of cream voile, adorned with a beautiful fichu of real lace. After the ceremony and the usual congratulations and baptismal of rice, and confetti, afternoon tea was served. The bride and bridegroom drove away amid the good wishes of the large gathering and a perfect deluge of rice, and kindest symbols! of good luck. The marriage presents were many and valuable, and included several cheques for handsome amounts. Mr Duncum has purchased a farm adjoining his father-in-law’s property, so Carnarvon will not suffer any loss through the union.
