Melbourne, July 5
Mr Schaumer, partner of the murdered Bauer, after an examination of the latter’s papers, estimates the value of the missing diamonds at ,£3IOO. He discovered nothing to give a clue to the murderer.
A mysterious affair has taken place at Nathalia, a young married woman named Oliver having been found sitting dead in her home with a bullet wound in the back of her head. Murder is suspected. Later. At the inquest on Mrs Oliver a verdict of accidental death \Vas returned. A loaded gun standing in the room probably received a knock.
