TITLE IN DISPUTE.
Disappointment of Would-be Settlers. Gisborne, June 26. One thousand applications were received forja block of Crown land at Waimata, of 1117 acres, which was to be balloted to-morrow, but to the great disappointment of applicants, word was received yesterday that the block w.ould be withdrawn in consequence of an incompleted title, the matter now being before the Native Land Court. About four years ago the same section was withdrawn at the last foment after a great rush of selectors. A local commission was set 'Upto go into title - and referred ; it to the Native Land Court to L define the interests.
