The Manawatu Herald. SATURDAY, JUNE 22, 1907. FOXTON POST OFFICE.
The Foxton. Post Office, like the wretched and insanitary building, has not received the attention from its official head, that it is entitled to. From the volume of work transacted here, it is justly entitled to be raised to the second grade status. The matter has been receiving the attention of Mr John Stevens, member for the district, and here is a hopeful reply which he has received from the Hon. Dr Findlay, Acting - Postmaster, which speaks for itself : —“ Sir, —I have the honour to refer to your letter of the 7th March last, respecting the grade of the Post Office at Foxton; and, in reply, to inform you that the question of raising the office at Foxton to the Second Grade, will be considered when the Estimates for the current year are
being prepared.—l have the honour to be, sir, your obedient servant, F. Findlay, Acting Postmaster-General.”
