FOOTBALL.
The football match which will create much interest, is that to be played on the local racecourse, on Saturday, between the Manawatu and local reps. The local boys, although lacking in combination, should give a good account of themselves. The kick-off takes place at 2.45 p.m. The visitors will subsequently be entertained at a dinner at Hickson’s Hotel. Sydney, June 17. The football team selected to tour Queensland and be afterwards kept in reserve to meet the New Zealanders is : Dix, Bede Smith, Messenger, Oxenhara, Waddell, Stuntz, McKivat, Woods, Griffin, Barnett, Graver, Rosewell, McCue, P. Burge, Groundwater, Row, Murnin, John and James Hughes. Probably two others will be added.
