A REMARKABLE CUBE OF-

American physicians (says the New York correspondent ol llie Daily Telegraph) believe Unit they have cured a case of lockjaw, by heroic and unprecedented methods. Richard Miller, a carpenter, ran a nail into one of his feet ten weeks ago. Within eight davs his jaws were locked, and he became unconscious. Alter antitoxen had been administered, and the wound in his loot excised, the patient became still worse. It was a very bad case ol tetanus, and the doctors abandoned hope. Convulsions racked the man’s frame. In desperation, and as a last resort, to give some relief to the tension on the heart and brain and internal organs, Dr J. 1L Garvin, bead surgeon at vSt. John’s Hospital, Long Island city took a pint and a half of blood from Miller’s left arm. Relief came, and to this heroic method, which, it is suggested here, may lead to a revolution in lockjaw treatment, the physicians believe the man owes his life. Recovery was only very gradual, and for six weeks Miller was very weak, and during part of the time his body was bent backwards like a bow, only his heels and the back ot his bead touching the bed. The periods ol consciousness came, and one day he was found semi-conscious, bis jaws relaxed, and gnawing at the sheet, as if to exercise the muscles which bad long remained unused. Now Miller is out ot the hospital, perfectly cured, and Dr Garvin has been invited to read a paper on the case betore the New York Medical Association.

It will interest sufferers to know Hint a valuable medicine, called Eh infolds, has been discovered, wbieb is now emnpleloly curing each of the above-named complaints. Proofnids are elegant in appearance, and pleasant to take, and, wbat is of the utmost importance, are thoroughly reliable in affording quick relief. Yon do not require to go on taking them for a prolonged period, as is necessary willi some medicines, which even then art* mostly disappointing; yon simply take a dose of Prootoids when ill and repeat tlie dose if necessary, but generally one dose is quite effective. Prootoids are immensely more valuable than an ordinary aperient, in so far Unit; they not only act as an aperient, but do re-move from the blood, tissues, and internal organs all the waste poisonous matter that is clogging them and choking the channels that lead to and from them. The beneficial effects of Prootoids are evident at once by the disappearance of headache. tile head becoming clear, and a bright, cheery sense of perfect health taking the place of sluggish, depressed feelings lay the liver acting properly, and by the food being properly digested. Prootoids are the proper aperient medicine to take when any Congestion or Wood Poison' is present, or when Congestion of the Drain or Apoplexy is present or threatening. They have been tested, ami have been proved to afford quick relief in such eases when other aperiepts have not done any good at all. It is of the utmost importance that this should be borne in mind, for in such cases to lake an ordinary aperient Is to waste time and permit of a serious illness becoming fatal, Prootoids act splendidly on the liver, and quickly cure bilious attacks that antibikoiis pills make worse. Many people have been made sick and iil by anlibilions pills that could have been cured at once by Prootoids. People should not allow themselves to be duped into contracting a medicinetaking habit by living persuaded to take daily doses with each meal of socalled indigestion cures that do NOT cure. Prootoids have been subjected to extensive tests, and have in every case proved successful in completely curing the complaints mimed. A constipated habit of body will be completely puree) if the patient will on each occasion, when suffering, take a dose of Prootoids, instead of an ordinary aperient: by so doing, the patient will require closes only at longer intervals, and will so become quite Independent of the necessity of taking any aperient medicine. Prootoids are only now being placed on the Australian market, consequently you may at present have a difficulty in getting them from your local chemist or storekeeper: but ask for them, and if you cannot get them at once, send stamps or postal note for price, 1/0, to W.
