The Manawatu Herald. SATURDAY, JUNE 15, 1907. RATING ON THE UNIMPROVED VALUE.

Mr Gardner, Government Uand Valuator for this district, informed our representative that from what he.could gather from conversations with local residents, Rating on the Unimproved Values was verypopular, and he expressed, the opinion that if a poll was taken this equitable system of taxation would be adopted in the borough. He is a staunch supporter of Rating on the Unimproved Values and he is of opinion that if the system was adoped by the ratepayers Koxton would be greatly benefited. We hope a meeting will be called at an early date, and a poll authorised to test the. feelings of the ratepayers.
