WEDDING BELLS.
Turner—Coley. All Saints Church was well filled with friends on Tuesday afternoon, when Mr Arthur Edward Turner, of Christchurch, was united in the bonds of holy matrimony to Miss Charlotte Maud, second daughter of Councillor and Mrs Geo. Coley of this town. Rev. Mr Woodward tied the nuptial knot. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr J. Coley, looked charming in cream silk voile, carrying shower bouquet and usual veil and orange blossoms. The bride was attended by her two sisters, Misses Minnie and Nellie, attired prettily in cream and yellow muslin with hats to match, and carrying bouquets of white and yellow flowers, with yellow 7 streamers, Mr Geo. Coley (brother of the bride) acted as best man, while Mr E. A. Coley (uncle) filled the role of groomsman. The bride’s travelling costume was a green coat and skirt with cream felt hat, while the bride’s mother attended the marriage in pretty plaid green costume. Immediately after the church ceremony, numerous friends were entertained in a marquee specially erected for the purpose at the residence of the bride’s parents,-where, after full justice was done to an excellent spread, provided in Mrs Geo. Coley’s best style, the usual toasts were honoured, including: “Bride and Bridegroom,” “Bridesmaids,” “The Ladies,” “Host and Hostess,’” and “ Press.” The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a handsome gold brooch set with rubies, while each of the bridesmaids received gold brooches The usual wedding presents made a valuable and useful collection. The happy pair left the same afternoon for Wanganui and New Plymouth, where the honeymoon will be spent.
