FOOTBALL.
The following team will represent Albions in their match against Sandon at Sandon on Saturday next 15th June : fullback, Bonner; Y\, M. Royal, F. Robinson, Joe Franklin ; Ya, Moma Aouui ; , George Robinson ; wing-forwards, James Bowe and Pete Larkins; hookers, J. Broad and W. Hunter ; Hanna, Roer Larkins, Tatana (2), G. Howan ; emerg. (backs) ; J. Williams, W,. Cook, J. Walker, Pare ; forwards: Shannon, Elsmore, Curtis, Chalk. Players must be ready to leave at 11 o’clock sharp, from the Manawatu Hotel. Any players not being able to get away are requested to notify the Secretary at once. The Albion Juniors defeated the Awahou Juniors by 15 to nil, thus being the holders of the Hickson Cup for this season. Mr Robinson refereed. The following team will represent Awahou in' their match against Rongotea at Foxton on Saturday : Osboldstone, Shadbolt, Williams, Reihana, Shia Shea, Saville, W. and J. Coley Hooker, Dunn, Woodford, Wright, W. Robinson, Redgrave, Reid, Spiers, and Chalk. A practice will be held to-night. Manawatu Rugby Union. The Management Committee of the Manawatu Rugby Union met at Palmerston on Tuesday evening. Present —Messrs Gibbons (in the chair), Fraser, Armstrong, Freeman, McLean, Manning, Stagpoole, Torstensen, and the secretary. The New Zealand Rugby Union wrote intimating that in future when an enquiry was being held into a case reported by a referee, the player or players concerned shall have the right to call evidence in mitigation of punishment only. All evidence at an enquiry shall be taken, read over to the witnesses and signed by them. The Foxtbn Sub-Union wrote asking for ruling re two disqualified last season, but of which suspensions no notice had been given to the governing bodies. After considerable discussion the following resolution was passed : “ That in the opinion of this Union the players mentioned were legally disqualified as from the date of committee meeting to the end of the term stated, and that the proceedings of the Sub-Union must be guided by their own club contest rules.” The Selection Committee will be requested to pick a representative team to meet Foxton on the 22nd. Mr Fraser was appointed manager for Foxton trip.
