THE MAN WHO ROSE AGAIN.
The Constantinople newspapers report an incident which, although of doubtful authenticity, deserves to be rescued from the obscurity which attends most productions of the Turkish press. A local hospital has an annexe for lunatics, where the milder patients are frequently employed for ordinary menial duties. One of these recently found bis way into the mortuary of the establishment, and seeing a corpse laid out awaiting burial, hid the body in a convenient press, and stretched himself in its place ini a most realistic manner, and awaited developments. Shortly afterwards a priest entered, with the pious purpose of praying by the deceased, but his devotions were interrupted by a fearful yell from the supposed corpse, which raised itself and leaped right over the astonished priest. The reverend father collapsed, and was found some hours later lying unconscious by the settle from which the body was missing. Its discovery in t,he cupboard nearly caused another panic, but finally cleared up the mystery.
