A SAD CASE.

Young Woman Attempts Suicide. Auckland, June 6. In the Police Court this morning a young woman named Florence Murphy was charged with having attempted suicide on May 27th by jumping into the harbour. Asked by the Bench for the reason of her act, the girl gave the laconic explanation : —‘ ‘ drunk. The case was adjourned until to-morrow in order that the defendant may be dealt with by a Stipendiary Magistrate.
