FOOTBALL.
On the racecourse yesterday afternoon Albion Juniors defeated a weak Awahouteam by 28 points to nil. Mr F. Robinson gave every satisfaction as referee. Rongotea have protested against Albions’ win of last Saturday, and the matter will be considered at a meeting of the Sub-Union, at Foxton, next Wednesday evening, when second round fixtures will also be drawn.
There should be a good attendance at the racecourse on Saturday to witness the Sandon-Albion fixture.
On account of the Manawatu A. and W. seven-a-side tournament at Palmerston, and other attractions, the junior match set down for Monday next, will not take place. The team to represent Awahou against Rongotea; Osboldstone, Redgrave, Woodford, Reid,Saville, Dunn, Coley, Shadbolt, Williams, Shia Shea, Reihana, Robinson (g), Hooker, and S. Wright. The following will represent the Junior Albions in the seven aside football tournament to be played at Palmerston on Monday next: K. Furrie, W. Shields, W. E. Cook, A. Cook, Elsemore, Cummerfield. Emergs.: A. Evans, K. Howan, J. Coley and Broughton.
