WANGANUI EDUCATION BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held on Wednesday evening. Present:— Messrs Pirani (chairman), G. Carson, F. M. Spnrdle, Dixon, Guthrie, Bennett, Purnell, and Smith.
Cash Statement. —The cash statement showed: General account, credit, ,£1475 ; maintenance account, liabilities ,£1125 13s 3d, credit,,£6l2 16s 6d, debit, .£512 13s gd. Resignations. —The following resignation were received and accepted : D. Hill, pupil teacher, Feilding ; M. McDonnell, 0 assistant, South Makirikiri ; M. Neilson, sole teacher, Long Acre Valley ; J. D. Aitken, pupil teacher, Hunterville; H. Mead, assistant, Utiku ; A. T. Lynch, assistant, Sandon; I. Pearce, assistant, Cheltenham ; H. Cox, sole teacher, Pukekata ; A. Everiss, Waitohi; Miss-Hanron, assistant, Ohingaiti.
Appointments. —The following appointments were confirmed ; Aramoho, J. E. Marshall; Tokorangi, Miss A. Lewis ; Ohakune, Mr G. Small; Matapu, Miss Casey; Pukeokahu, Miss Brad well; Wanganui, A. McLaughlin, as assistant Queen’s Park; Kakaramea, W. A. Curteis. Carnarvon. —Mr Purnell authorised to arrange for lining of building at Makowhai, and also tor supply of heating stove.
Ifoxton —Committee to be informed that Board only provided new residence on condition that the old building should be sold. Bee Culture. —Mr Smith produced a sample of honey from Taihape, and speaking of the advisability of fostering the industry thereby represented, moved, “ That the Board make application to the Agricultural Department to allow Mr Hopkins, the Government Bee Expert, to attend teachers’ Saturday classes to instruct teachers in bee-keeping.” The motion was seconded by Mr Spnrdle and carried.
