METHODIST CHURCH.

Anniversary Services. The anniversary services in connection with the local Methodist Church were held on Sunday. The morning, afternoon and evening services were well attended. A feature of the services was the excellent singing by the choir, under the conductorship ,of Mr T. Betty. Mr Q, H. Stiles presided at the organ. The Rev. Aitken (Presbyterian) conducted the morning service and the Rev. Mr Southern the evening. Mr Hornblow delivered a short address in the afternoon. The solos by Messrs Hoar .(Palmerston N.) and Longworth (Levin) were particularly good. Both gentlemen possess rich baritones and full justice was done by them to the following sacred pieces: “Nazareth,” “When the King Comes In,” “Crossing the Bar,” “ Calvary ” and “ The Heavenly Song, ’ ’ The anthems by the choir \yere ' particularly pleasing, and added greatly to the success of the services.
