The Rev. Mr Doull, Presbyterian minister at Bulls died last night. A meeting of the Awahou Football Club will be held this evening. We remind the public of the religious addresses to be given by Mr Gyles in the Gospel Hall tonight and to-morrow night. All are invited, hymn books provided and no collection. The flood waters in the Manawatu have submerged miles of low-lying country right up to the Manawatu Gorge. Flax cutting has been abandoned and settlers have had to remove stock to higher ground. Acres of land along the banks of the river have been washed away. Settlers have been put to great inconvenience but no serious damage has as yet been reported. The mails have been delayed. The mail coach from Levin, which usually arrives between 12.15 and 12.30, did not arrive to-day until 1.50. Shooting parties who arrived from Palmerston and other places, have been compelled to abandon their sport, by reason of the flooded condition of the country. The local fishermen have had to abandon their calling. The flood is bringing down large quantities of timber and flax. CHURCH SERVICES.
