THE RUSSIAN DOUMA.
A Critical Debate. St. Petersburg, April 30. A stormy sitting of the Douma followed the Government’s request for 459,000 recruits for the army. The Minister for War remarked; ‘ * You must give us the soldiers, ’' He quoted the fundamental law showing that the Czar was empowered to raise six contingents, the same as in previous years. It is believed the fate of the Douma hangs on the result of the debate, which was adjourned.
