FOXTON ATHLETIC CLUB.
A special meeting ; of the above club was held in Mr M. Perreau’s rooms last night for the purpose of electing a new secretary to succeed Mr T. Whibley, who has been reluctantly compelled to lesign. Mr M. Perreau was voted to the chair. Mr Whibley’s resignation was accepted with regret and members expressed their high appreciation of this gentleman’s energetic and devoted services to the Club. As a mark of appreciation Mr Whibley was presented with a travelling bag. Mr Perreau, in a few well-chosen remarks, made the presentation, Mr Whibley suitably acknowledging the gift. Mr J. W. Rough vvas unanimously elected to fill the position rendered vacant.
The following committee was appointed to inspect the track at the park, with a view of waiting on the Borough Council re same ; Messrs J. W. Rough, K. Healey, J. Frew, M. Perreau, and F. Martin, A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting.
