Annie Dunn (Mr Moore) charged Earnest Dunn her husband (Mr Reade) under the Destitute Persons Act with refusing and neglecting to provide maintenance for herself and child Phyliss. After hearing lengthly evidence in which it was proved that defendant had been earning on an average £3 per week, the Magistrate ordered defendant to pay into court the sum of 12/6 per week in support of his wife and 7/6 in support of the child, costs 2is.
