In the course of the letter the writer says:—“All whom I tell of my childhood think I ought to come to the hospital and see it, and hear why I knew nothing of my life till I was seventeen years of age, when very dimly, my intellect and knowledge grew by degrees, as a child would, after seventeen years of age. ’ ’ A visit to the hospital followed this letter, and the writer stated her earliest recollection was, at the age of eighteen, of being intensely jealous of a small child of fourwho had learned her ABC.
