Treasurer’s Report.
The; Treasurer reported at, last night’s Council meeting that since the last monthly meeting ,of the Council the sum of 18s yd has been paid, into the District Fund Account, T and_ the balance to the credit of the Council, this, day was various separate . accounts are as follows: General account .£43,1 is idd, overdrawn; 'library account 14s 1 id, reserves account 13s 1 id, cemetery account’ 5s rod, interest account os 3d, all in credit. , , .
I am so far, advanced' with my annual balance .sheet that- I am able to give the matin points of same' to the Council to-night, as follows : The total receipts for the year in the - 1 general - ’account are -£■14.79 18s-fed. Cemetery account, total receipts £32, all payments for sites. Total expenditure £26 14s 2d, chief items salaries .£ls* grass cutting £7 Bs. .1 Reserves account, total receipts ,£240 3s 1 id, all for rents; total expenditure £35 1 os, chief items shelter shed ,£ls 10s, secretary £lO, part cost draining £lO. Interest account, total receipts .£296 13s gd, allfrom rates. Total expenditure ,£lßl 13s 6d being interest paid Government. Total receipts from all sources £2084 19s 4d. Total expenditure all accounts ,£1837 4s gd, leaving a credit balance in the. bank at the end of year of ,£247 14s 7d. Although I have not yet had time to go thoroughly into the matter, I may state that the special rates next year will be reduced considerably, perhaps by one-third.
