THE THAW TRIAL.

Diverse views on the question of sanity. New York, April 4, The Lunacy Commissioners have concluded their examination into the mental condition of Harry Thaw, who stands indicted for the murder of. Stanford White. The inquiry was conducted in private, even counsel being excluded previous to the taking of the evidence of the experts. This evidence is absolutely conflicting. Dr Wagner, superintendent of the State Hospital for Insane at Binghampton, in Broome County, New York, testified that, according to his view, Thaw was suffering from a ‘ ‘ brain storm ’ ’ when he killed White • but his balance was restored almost immediately.

Other experts insist that Thaw is still insane.
