NEW INVENTIONS.
London, March 22. Sir Howard Vincent, Conservative member of Parliament for Sheffield Central, announces that the Hadfield Steel Foundry has introduced a new projectile which will pierce any armour. The Vickers-Maxim Company has invented a system of driving warships with gas, obviating the use of funnels, thus giving allround fire. New York, March 22. Mr Nixon, an American marine architect, has patented an engine worked by petroleum gas, which he claims will enable a ship to cross the Atlantic in four days.
