A MYSTERIOUS DEATH.
Body Found in a Whare.
Tlie Palmerston police received word from Newberry yesterday morning that the dead body of a man had been discovered in an old whare at the rear of Mr Faire’s property on Newberry line. A constable on arrival at the whare found the body lying in a bunk in a state of decomposition. The man had evidently been dead for some days, and the face was partially eaten by rats. As far as could be judged, the body was that of a man named Dawson, but as no one had seen him about the whare, or had visited the place for some long time, nothing definite could be gathered.
Later Particulars. Inquest to be held. By Telegraph—Special to Herald. Palmerston, This Afternoon, The inquest on John Dawson the old age pensioner whose decomposing body was found yesterday in a neglected whare at Newburry Line, will be held this afternoon.
