FIRE AT MOUTOA.

Between one and two o’clock on Tuesday afternoon, a fire destroyed a four-roomed cottage at Moutoa, owned by Mr Clarice and occupied by Mr Wallace. There was no one in the house at the time of the outbreak, and Mr Wallace’s brother was working about 15 chains away, but the house was hidden by some trees. However, he did his best to save what he could of the household effects, but the fire had too much of a hold. The contents were insured for £SO and Mr Wallace is therefore a heavy loser.
