LONDON MARKETS. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, Wellington, have received the following cables from London, dated 7th inst : Frozen meat —There is a better demand for lamb, but prices are weak. Poor demand for mutton. The market is dull, and tone generally easier. Also poor demand for beef which has not been improved by the decline in prices. We quote : New Zealand prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury, heavy, light, North Island, heavy, 5d ; light, New Zealand prime crossbred mutton, Canterbury, light, North Island, light, qd; heavy, 3^d; New Zealand prime ox beef —fores, hinds, 3}(d. There is a better demand for pork Expect the demand will continue at about the same price up to the end of June. Butter—The Copenhagen official quotation is lower by three kroner (about %) per cwt. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for the week ending the 2nd inst., amounted to xo7,ooocwt as compared with nq.ooocwt for the corresponding week of 1906. Increasing demand for unsalted.
Tallow —There is more disposition to do business at full prices, which are higher by 3d to 6d per cwt. Wheat —Market quiet. Nothing doing.
