HIMATANGI NOTES.

Own Correspondent. On Wednesday last, atFeilding, Mr S. J. Hartley, of this rising town, was married to Miss D. Cuff, of Halcombe. Both are well known, and we wish them all the good things that ‘‘God’s Own Country” has in store for them. On the arrival of the happy couple at Himatangi about 80 guests were entertained at Mr Hartley’s, where music, song and story followed one another until the sma’ wee hours of the morning.

Mr and Mrs G. Fanner leave here for a trip down South on Wednesday next, Mrs Farmer has not been in the best of health lately, and it is to be hoped the trip will be beneficial to her.

Post office and school matters are very quiet just now, but I expect it is the calm before the storm.

The new store next to the creamery is m&king good headway, and 1 expect Mr Brooks will be in possession next week. Although the Health Department has reported on the Oroua Downs Creamery, nothing has yet been done to improve the drainage. I hope that at the directors meeting on the 13th, some definite move will be made in the matter. So, in the meantime, mum’s the word.
