SEDDON NATIONAL MEMORAL.
It has now beeii decided to invite subscriptions for the erection of a public momument in the city of Wellington, as it has been found impossible to secure a suitable site for a technical university. The Committee, by advertisment, appeal to the citizens of Foxton to assist in the project, and feel confident that there will be no difficulty in securing a sum sufficient to erect a monument which will be worthy of the occasion, and form a fitting tribute to the great statesman whose memory is still fresh in the minds of the people of New Zealand. Subscriptions from Foxton and neighbourhood will be received at the Borough Council Offices, and' it is hoped townspeople will use their influence to make the project a success. The movement is to be a national one, and the Committee have no doubt that people in all parts of the Colony will lend their assistance in furtherance of so worthy an object. It is hoped some of our leading citizens will head the list.
