THE FINDLAY TRIAL.

Leave To Appeal. Dunedin, Feb. 28. Leave to appeal has been granted in the case of Findlay, convicted of robbery at ' Papakaio. It was granted by Judge Wiliams on the ground that the verdict was against the evidence. His Honour said he has consulted Judge Cooper who tried Findlay for murder on evidence which, in nearly all respects, was the same. The case comes before the Court of Appeal at the first sitting. Wellington, Feb. 28. A woman charged at the Police Court, at Wellington, this morning, was found to have 186 previous convictions against her. She was sent to gaol for six months.
