HARBOUR BOARD MOVEMENT.

Mr J. Nash, an erstwhile Foxton boy, and now one of Palmerston’s leading citizens, takes a reap live interest in the welfare of his native town. When presiding at the banquet tendered to Mr Stewart the other evening, he stated that he had tabled a motion for the next meeting of the Palmerston Chamber of Commerce, in reference to the formation of a Harbour Board to control the local port. He intended to solicit support from all the towns between Pahiatua, Dannevirke and Feilding. He referred to the growing importance of Foxton as a shipping and distributing centre for the district, and spoke hopefully of the support likely to be given to the movement throughout the district. We commend Mr Nash for his enterprise, and hope his efforts will bear fruition.
