The following letter has been re- . ceived by the local cricket association from the secretary of the Manawatu Cricket Association Dear Sir,- —A team, of' ;01d, Boys, ~ will leave Palmerston .North for •Foxton' by the 12 noon train, .on ~ Saturday next, to play a match with your team at Foxton. The team wish to return horiie the same, evening so that if you could arrange to have us taken to Shannon to catch the last up - train to Pal- , merston North that night, we .... would be greatly obliged. We do not wish to ask you-to bear, any , expense of conveying us to Shannon. I have arranged .a match for you here with Feilding oh t;he 2nd * March next (a Saturday). The Feilding team will be here to start, the match at 11 a.m., and luncheon . . can be provided on the ground without adjourning to town. Feilding has a splendid team and I J can promise you a good match. ; The association will of course prepare a Wicket for ypu h,ere.
