TENNIS.

A meeting of the committee of the local tennis club was held last evening, Mr Alf. Fraser presiding. A letter was read trom the Taokea Club, challenging the local club to a friendly match for Saturday next, 23rd inst. It was decided to accept the challenge conditionally that the dab become affiliated with the association before that date.

The following new members were elected: —Mr and Mrs Phillips, Misses Gray and Adams, and Mr Boyes. It was decided that the ladder system of games be introduced. The Secretary was instructed to procure a spanner to replace the one which had disappeared.
