CRICKET.

A meeting of the Foxlon Cricket Association was held in Mr Rough’s office last evening when the following business was transacted.

Proposed by Mr Rough, seconded by Mr W. Nyc, that surplus matting be disposed of. —Carried. Proposed by Mr Stiles, seconded by Mr Rough, that VV. Gordon be asked to arrange with tire S_cretary of the Old Boys C. C. re arrangements for the match on 23' d mst.—Carried. Proposed by Mr Runnier, seconded by W. Go-don, that the captains of the three Foxton teams pick a representative team to play Shannon aud Old Boys.—Carried. The picking oi a B team was left with Mr Gordon.

The Association decided to ask Messers Woods and Gordon to take charge of the players selected, and any member not putting in a fair amount of practise shall render himself liable to be struck off the rep. team.

It was also decided to hold a concert in aid of the Association funds and that a special meeting to make arrangements for same, be held on Wednesday night. The match, Shannon v. Foxton rep. team, takes place in Victoria Park on Wednesday next, and will probably starFabout noon, or earlier. Shannon has recently beaten a team that journeyed from the Empire city, and it behoves our cricketers to look to their laurels and show a little more baiting form than the average school hoy.
