THE WANGANUI RIVER.
From the proprietors of the fine fleet of fourteen boats now on the Wanganui, we gather that the season soi far has been a good one. Very large numbers ot people are doing the Taumarunui Wanganui and vice versa trip this year. As also the specially cheap four days trip—Wanganui to the Houseboat and return to Wanganui for It is not generally known that in the vicinity of the Houseboat an isolated spot, some 120 miles up river, splendid pig hunting sport can be obtained. The wild pigs in the bush there are very numerous. Pig dogs can be arranged for with the Natives at the Pah near the Houseboat. Some fine specimens of the genuine Captain Cook species have been obtained lately. The water in the Wanganui this summer has been so far very good.
