WRESTLING.
On Thursday evening next the public will have an opportunity of witnessing an exhibition of wrestling. Mr Pearce, who claims to be the champion of Australasia, lias issued a challenge to Mr D. Dickson (our local constable) that he will throw him within 15 minutes. Mr Pearce demonstrated his abilities on Saturday night to the satisfaction of all who visited his marquee and although Mr Dickson has been with us for a comparatively short period he has gained many supporters by his knowledge and fitness in this capacity. Keen excitement is being shown by the local exponents of the art and we anticipate a large and enthusiastic gathering to see the “go.” In addition Mr Pearce will give an exhibition of American axe swinging. Prince Olrac will present his evergreen fire eating performance and a number of local musicians will complete a very ineresting programme. Half of the gross proceeds go to the local Band funds.
