MANAWATU ROWING CLUB.

A meeting ot the committee of the above was held last night in Mr J. W. Rough’s rooms. A discussion took place in reference to holding a regatta. It was decided that a regatta be held on a date to be fixed. Every effort will be made to ensure a successful gathering.

It was decided to hold a club competition four-oared race, for the purpose of initiating members into outrigger rowing as much practice is needed before the club can entertain the thought of a regatta. Nominations for the four-oared event closes with the Secretary on the nth inst., at S p.m. sharp, and the fixtures will be published on the 12th. The final of the Pair-oared Club’s Race will take place on Wednesday next, at 3 o’clock sharp, when these crews meet: —Hickson stroke, Bough bow ; Groce stroke, Shields bow.
