A BARQUE WRECKED.

Auckland, Yesterday. The barque Wai Iti, when leaving the wharf at Mangawhare (Kaipara) for Hoanga to-day to load timber for Melbourne, struck a bank just below the wharf. It was blowing a strong northeaster at the time. .Efforts were made to get the vessel off without avail and as the tide fell she listed outwards and afterwards turned over, smashing her masts off at the deck. It is believed the barque will be a total wreck.
