WATER SERVICE.
A special meeting of the Borough Council will be held on Monday night to discuss a water service for the borough. Is it necessary for us to again repeat our previous warnings of the serious consequences that would follow il some disease broke out or a conflagration started. Surely the time has arrived when something must be done. There are several old buildings in Main St. which, if the building inspector did his duty, would be condemed and which are a menace. Nero fiddled while Rome burnt. Careless and indifferent. Will the Council take hold of this question and settle it or wait till our buildings are a smouldering heap of cinders ? It is a wonder that fire insurance companies take a single risk on buildings in the Main Street. Buildings are in course of erection in all quarters and yet no provision is made in case of an outbreak of fire. We hope the Council on Monday night will have something definite t o place before townspeople in reference to this question.
