London, Jan. 17. The Divisional Court discharged the Magistrate’s order for the extradition of A. P. Percival, formerly treasurer to Trinity Colie ge, Melbourne, on a charge of embezzling College funds. The grounds of the refusal of extradition were that the evidence was insufficient to show that the offence was punishable in Victoria with jryear’s imprisonment. The estate of the late Mr George, of Adelaide, has been sworn at ,£718,000. He bequeathed £SOOO to Adelaide charities.

The United States Senate passed the Shipping Subsidy Bill, providing larger subsidies to American shipping, subsequently the House of Representatives, by a majority of one, defeated the Bill. London, Jan, 17. Sir Conan Doyle, after interview ing Mr Gladstone, expressed his confidence that an enquiry would be held into the Edalji case.
