RAILWAY PORTER’S TERRIBLE DEATH.
Hawera, Yesteiday. A man named Patrick McCarty, a porter at the Hawera Railway Station, was killed while shunting this morning. The unfortunate man sustained terrible injuries, his head being reduced to a pulp, and his body disemboweled. He leaves a wife and two young children.
