THE IZARD BANKRUPTCY.
Masterton, Jan. 9,
Henry Stratton Izard the Greytown bankrupt, appeared before a justice at Masterton Magistrate’s Court this morning to answer charges in connection with his recent bankruptcy. He asksd for a remand till the 17th, the limit of time allowable, on the ground that his counsel,’Mr C. P. Skerrett, who was absent, would be unable to appear before that date.
_ The Crown solich*¥«-dtd not oppoTe'fHef remand, and said satii& factory arrangements had been made as to the custody of the girl Grace Mahupuku. Therefore the Crown would be willing to allow accused’s liberation on bail, providing the amount of security re. quired would not be reduced.
The remand and bail were granted, the latter being fixed ais before at bankrupt in and : two sureties of each. - Bail was forthcoming," the ~ sureties being Mr C. H. Izard,' M.H.R-\ r (brother of accused), a:fi Mr Henry Holmes, of Matahiwi, Masterton. ■
