| TO THE EDITOR J Sir,— ln the name of the great god Baal, “ god of flies and other noxious things,” also apparently , of the Eoxton Borough Council from Mayor to Nightman. What is the meaning of the shameful neglect of sanitary matters pre- % valent in Foxton at the : ' tinieiL-'WtetteHtfTie the result of ignorance, negligence, incompetence, indifference, or pure laziness, it has now become simply intolerable, If the Mayor and Clerk and the whole “ box and dice of them” have not ability or energy enough to deal with the plainest, yet most vital concerns of those who placed them in office, why do they not resign and make room for more capable and conscientious men ? The sanitary arrangements in some quarters have been shamefully neglected, which, at this time ot the year is a menace to the public health. Others are breaking the by-law by burying the filth in their jyards. Councillors can vote a ‘ bloated salary to its clerk, but they have got little else "to show over the term they have been supposed to represent (?) the It’s about tin\e we were-- repigflß ■sented by men who have a little 7 ’® knowledge at least of municipal matters. —Yours, etc., “Disgusted.” -
