His Visit to India. Calcutta, January’s. The Ameer of Afghanistan, who is en route to confer with Lord Kitchener, the British Commander-in-chief, has been welcomed on the Indian frontier. The Ameer, with a bodyguard consisting of his sons and a number of chiefs ; and a bodyguard numbering mo, has arrived at Landikotal. King Edward sent a cable message stating that the Ameer’s visit occasioned him great gratification' as indicating friendly relations between Afghanistan and India.
