FIRES.

Auckland, Dec. 28. . A fire occurred to-niglifc in T. Lees and Son’s gum store, a brick building. It originated in a large stock ot kauri gum on a landing, spread up the lift to the upper story and did extensive damage amongst the stock of graded gum. The inside woodwork of the building was practically ruined. TiMAiiu, Dec. 28. The Eangitata traffic bridge, which was partially destroyed by fire yesterday, is damaged to the extent of about £7OOO. The fire originated in some gorse on the river-bed.
