A telegram received from Port Albert states that Esther Marjori Worker, aged thirteen, eldest daughter of N. A- Worker, of Wellsford, was accidentally drowned while bathing in Wellsford creek yesterday. An act of mistaken kindness performed by John Sydney Haines while being discharged from Mount Eden gaol, Auckland, met with a lack of appreciation on the part of the prison authorities, which resulted in Haines’ appearance in the Police Court on a charge of breaking the prison regulations. The accused admitted that while he was waiting for the gratuity due to him upon leaving goal, he threw a stick of tobacco to his old colleagues. A warder noticed the incident, and Haines, instead of leaving the prison, was detained on a fresh charge. Mr Severne, gaoler, stated that when the tobacco was introduced into prison in such a fashion a good deal of quarrelling among the prisoners resulted. Haines asked to be allowed to go out of town because he had served a long sentence and did not want to go back to gaol again. He was fined £5 or a month’s imprisonment. —Star. The Reason Why Dr Shelden’s Digestive Tabules cure indigestion, Dyspepsia, and ail Stomach Troubles. Is that they actually contain all of the natural digestants as found in a healthy stomach. Unlike many socalled indigestion cures, these Tabules are neither laxative or carthetic. and do not act upon the bowels in any way lor in indigestion or dyspepsia the whole trouble is the stomach and not the bowels. No one ever suffered from indigestion or dyspepsia whose stomach was in a healthy condition. When the stomach is out of order, do not go without food or irritate your stomach with cathartics, but take some natural digestant which will digest what you eat, thus assisting the stomach to regain its normal health and vigour. Dr Sheldon’s Digestive Tabules is the only preparation that contains all the known digestants, and which will digest all kinds of food. These tabules are not a medicine which is advertised to cure anything, but a scientific preparation, prepared according to the original prescription of E. M. Sheldon. M.D„ a graduate of the University, City of New York, and Belleview, U.S.A. These Tabules are sold at 2s 6d for a tin containing 80 Tabules.
